MH370 Goes Down In Indian Ocean

Kuala Lumpur - 25/3/2014 : All 239 passengers and crew on board MH370 are feared dead after it was determined that the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 went down in the Indian Ocean. After 17 days of waiting in agony, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Tun Razak last night announced live over TV that the flight path of the missing plane ended in the southern Indian Ocean.

"Flight MH370 flew into the southern Indian Ocean," the Prime Minister said here last night. The national airline sent a text message to families expressing deep regret and said the flight is lost "beyond reasonable doubt,". We deeply regret that we have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board have survived. We must now accept all evidence suggests the plane went down in the Southern Indian Ocean.

Najib made the announcement following the never before used analysis by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) and Inmarsat, the UK company which provided the satellite data which indicated the northern and southern corridors. Using a type of analysis never before used in a investigation of this sort, they have been able to shed more light on MH370 flight path.

French investigators said Monday it was too soon to consider launching undersea searchers for the remains of the Malaysia Airlines jet that officials said went down in the Indian Ocean. France's BEA accident investigation service, which had sent three investigators to Kuala Lumpur, said the "extremely vast areas (involved) do not make it possible at this stage to consider undersea searches - AFP.

Takziah dan Al-Fatihah
