Brooklyn Beckham Inks His First Professional Contract With Arsenal

Arsenal have reportedly stolen a march on their rivals and signed 15-year-old Brooklyn Beckham on a short-term deal.

The Daily Star reports that the Gunners have snapped up the son of English icon David Beckham ahead of his father's former club Manchester United and cross-city rivals Chelsea.

An unnamed Arsenal source told the paper: "Brooklyn is talented and he has stood out in all of the training sessions and games he has played. He has had other teams sniffing around and it was always going to be a case of when, not if, he was signed up by a big-name club. Arsenal realize he can be a huge talent. They have seen that potential and protected their asset. The club has signed him, fending off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in the meantime."

The chances of Beckham playing in Arsenal's first team anytime soon are slim to none, but a quick glance at the fixture list tells TT that the Gunners' next Premier League match is at home to Louis van Gaal's side. Now wouldn't that be a deliciously excellent game to debut the son of Golden balls ?
